The crises of political modernization and the search of alternative variants of countrys’ development

In this article the author examines the underlying causes and consequences of the crises of political modernization. Attention is focused on the fact that most of the newly independent states which are in the phase of transformation and modernization are faced with these challenges, the effects of which can be a threat to the future full functioning and sometimes even the state existence. The basic contradictions of political modernization are elaborated. They are divided into two groups, and each, in turn, allocate several subgroups. It is concluded that the emergence and spread in political systems these conflicts leads to the appearance of further crises of political modernization. The author identifies three major crises: legitimacy, participation and control conflicts. They occur sequentially and each step is exacerbated, causing an increasing threat to the state. The article emphasizes that the crises of political modernization manifest as «malignant tumor on the body of the state». Over time, they grow, whipping the situation in the country and lead to changes in the political system, and sometimes to radical regime change. The author proposes to implement in countries that are faced with a crises of political modernization and felt of its negative effect the trends of retraditionalization. However, it should be noted that in the article is delineated the concepts of pseudo traditions and traditions that can be replaced, resulting in a come-back effect, which is even worse way could affect on the precarious situation of young states. In the result indicates that the process of finding alternative ways of modernizing states is not completed, and the optimal model has not produced and needs further developments.
